TxDOT to Begin Road Work at FM 179 and 50th Street

 

LUBBOCK, TX – The Texas Department of Transportation will begin converting the FM 179 and 50th Street intersection to an all-way stop.

According to a press release, the road work will be completed in two phases.

Starting Wednesday, March 5, crews will set up drill shaft foundations and install new solar flashing beacon stop signs on 50th Street. This phase is expected to take two days to finish.

Later in the month, the second phase will include installing solar flashing beacons on FM 179, adding roadway striping, and putting up stop ahead and intersection ahead signs to warn drivers of the new stop conditions.

Work will take place weather permitting.
