Lubbock’s Spring & Summer Irrigation Restrictions to Begin

LUBBOCK, TX – The City of Lubbock’s spring and summer irrigation restrictions will take effect on April 1 and continue until September 30.

Irrigation will be allowed only during specific hours: from midnight to 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to midnight on your assigned watering days.

The city recommends that residents turn off their sprinklers between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day to conserve water. Residents are also asked to limit watering to no more than 1.5 inches per zone per week.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Watering days are based on the last digit of your address:

    • Addresses ending in 0, 3, 4, or 9 – Monday and Thursday

    • Addresses ending in 1, 5, or 6 – Tuesday and Friday

    • Addresses ending in 2, 7, or 8 – Wednesday and Saturday

  • Make sure to avoid runoff and only water when temperatures are above 35°F.

  • Do not water on Sundays or during rain.

  • Hand watering is allowed at any time on any day.

The city encourages everyone to continue these practices year-round to help preserve water resources.
