City of Lubbock to Test Outdoor Warning System

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock will conduct a routine test of its Outdoor Warning System this Friday, April 11, at 9:30 a.m.

The test will last for approximately 3 minutes and will activate the city’s outdoor warning sirens. This is only a test and not a sign of severe weather or an actual emergency.

The system is tested regularly on the second Friday of each month. However, if the National Weather Service forecasts a 10% or greater chance of thunderstorms on the day of the test, the activation will be canceled and not rescheduled.

More information about the Outdoor Warning System and the city's emergency alert procedures can be found at mylubbock.us/outdoorwarningsystem.
