WWII Poetry Winners to be Recognized at Silent Wings Museum

 

LUBBOCK, TX  The Silent Wings Museum announced it will celebrate the winners of its Third Annual Poetry Competition with a reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, April 19.

The 2025 competition drew entries from across the region to celebrate the American home front and the World War II generation’s “can-do” attitude and patriotic spirit. 

The finalists' and winning works will be displayed next to the museum’s featured exhibit, "In Their Own Words: Poetry of the American Glider Pilot."

The public is invited to attend the awards ceremony from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A reception with light refreshments will follow the event.

The awards ceremony and reception are included in the admission to the Silent Wings Museum.
