66th Street Closure Begins Monday for Road, Drainage Work

LUBBOCK, TX — Starting Monday, April 28, a portion of 66th Street between Upland Avenue and the Marsha Sharp Freeway will be closed to through traffic for approximately 60 days due to ongoing construction.

The closure is part of a project led by Lone Star Dirt and Paving, Inc. to complete paving along 66th Street and build a low-water crossing.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, these improvements are necessary to connect the roadway to the Upland Avenue intersection and maintain proper drainage in the area.

Detours will be marked to help drivers navigate around the construction zone.
