Lubbock's Move Out Give Back Event Set for May 7 & 17

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock, in partnership with Texas Tech University, is hosting the annual Move Out Give Back event on May 7 and May 17, 2025.

This event gives students and residents an easy way to donate reusable items during move-out season while helping to reduce illegal dumping.

Two drop-off locations will be available to collect clean, reusable items like furniture, small appliances, and household goods.

Drop-Off Locations:

  • Elgin and 29th Street: Next to the City of Lubbock recycling site, by the LP&L Substation (2901 Elgin Ave)
     
  • First Baptist Church: Southeast parking lot at 13th Street & Avenue V
     

Event Hours:

  • Wednesday, May 7, and Saturday, May 17
     
  • 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
     

Items Accepted Include:

  • Furniture (chairs, tables, shelves)
     
  • Small appliances (microwaves, mini-fridges, coffee makers)
     
  • Items should be clean and in good condition
     

For larger items that can’t be dropped off, residents can visit myLubbock.us/bulkywaste for disposal options.
