LUBBOCK, TX—The City of Lubbock will cancel its routine test of its Outdoor Warning System this morning, May 9, at 9:30 a.m.
The test lasts approximately 3 minutes and will activate the city’s outdoor warning sirens. This is only a test, not a sign of severe weather or an emergency.
The system is tested regularly on the second Friday of each month. However, if the National Weather Service forecasts a 10% or greater chance of thunderstorms on the day of the test, the activation will be canceled and not rescheduled.
More information about the Outdoor Warning System and the city's emergency alert procedures can be found at mylubbock.us/outdoorwarningsystem.
