LUBBOCK, TX — The Silent Wings Museum invites young game enthusiasts to explore history and strategy this summer through its Mini Camp Mondays, a hands-on camp series for children ages 8 to 12.
Each session will feature games from the World War II era alongside their modern counterparts, offering a unique mix of fun, education, and patriotism. Campers will also get to learn about emergency preparedness with the City of Lubbock’s Office of Emergency Management during select activities.
Camp Schedule and Details:

July 7, 2025 – Bomb the Axis vs. Battleship
Campers ages 10–12 will explore the WWII board game Bomb the Axis and compare it to modern Battleship in a morning of teamwork and strategy.
Fee: $45 -
July 14, 2025 – Military Strategy
Children ages 10–12 will learn about a World War II-themed version of Chess, sharpening their minds with lessons in tactical planning.
Fee: $45 -
July 21 & 28, 2025 – Build A Game (Two-Day Camp)
Kids ages 8–12 (accompanied by one adult if desired) will design and build their own original board game.
Fee: $80
