Lubbock Extends Free ‘Movies in the Park’ Series

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department has extended its free Movies in the Park series through August 9, offering families more opportunities to enjoy outdoor films and local parks this summer.

Each event features pre-show activities beginning at 6 p.m., with movies starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. Free popcorn will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, provided by event sponsor Wellpoint.

The updated movie schedule is as follows:

  • July 19: The Wild Robot at Mackenzie Park

  • July 26: Moana 2 at Aztlan Park

  • August 5: Despicable Me 4 at Rodgers Park

  • August 9: Inside Out 2 at Maxey Park

In addition to Wellpoint’s support, the series is also made possible by contributions from DePelchin Children’s Center.
