LUBBOCK, TX — Lubbock Public Health’s Prevention Resource Center, in partnership with STARCARE, will host a free naloxone (Narcan) training on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026.
The training is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Lubbock Public Health Building, 2015 50th St. E., and is open to the public at no cost.
The session is designed to teach community members how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to respond using naloxone, a medication that can reverse the effects of opioid overdoses. Participants will receive hands-on instruction and be provided a free naloxone kit upon completion of the training.
Organizers said education and access to naloxone are key tools in reducing overdose-related deaths and improving emergency response in the community.
