Lubbock Officials Warn of Texting Scam Impersonating Municipal Court

 

LUBBOCK, TX — City officials are warning residents about a texting scam in which messages falsely claim to be from the Lubbock Municipal Court and threaten fines or arrest related to citations.

According to the city, the messages are not legitimate. Officials emphasized that the municipal court does not send text messages regarding citations or payment of fines.

Residents who receive such messages are urged not to respond or provide personal information.
