City Announces Codes Neighborhood Deployment in Harwell Neighborhood

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — The City of Lubbock Code Administration Department will conduct a neighborhood deployment in the Harwell area on Wednesday, May 13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The targeted area is bounded by Avenue A, 50th Street, Interstate 27 and 34th Street. A temporary field office will be set up at 108 40th Street to provide residents with information about code enforcement efforts and available city services.

A roll-off container will also be available at the site for residents within the deployment area to dispose of bulky items.

During the deployment, code enforcement inspectors will focus on identifying violations related to junked vehicles, nuisance weeds and rubbish, substandard housing and zoning issues. Officials said inspectors will also engage with residents to provide education on common violations, issue citations when necessary and, in some cases, address violations on site.
