LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech Red Raiders Indoor Track and Field team is back on top just days after they claimed the Big 12 Indoor Championship over the weekend. Weekly rankings released by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) placed the Red Raiders at the No. 1 spot three days after Texas Tech’s big win.
The Red Raiders are, once again, the team to beat heading into the NCAA Indoor Championships held in Boston at the end of next week.

2024 is the second year in a row that the Red Raiders’ Indoor team won the Big 12 Championship. Texas Tech had four first-place finishes at the Championships including the men’s 4X400-meter, the 200-meter, the 60-meter, and the 5000-meter runs.
While the Red Raiders had themselves a weekend, the Lady Raiders were not far behind. The Texas Tech Women’s team finished second overall at the Big 12 Championships and slid four places to No. 9 in the nation in this week’s rankings.
Next up, Texas Tech has a week off before the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders head to Boston for the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. The event begins on Thursday, March 7, and runs through Saturday, March 9.
