LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech men's golf team will be well-represented at the 124th United States Amateur Championship, which kicks off Monday, August 12, at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
Six Red Raiders from the 2024-25 roster—Matthew Comegys, Charlie DeLong, Connor Graham, Ben Gregg, Price Hill, and Calum Scott—are set to compete in the prestigious event. They will be joined by recent graduates Vicente Marzilio and Jack Wall.
The competition, running from Aug. 12-18, features 312 golfers who will play stroke play rounds at Hazeltine and the co-host Chaska Town Course. The top 64 players will advance to match play starting Wednesday.
Calum Scott, ranked No. 12 in the Men's World Amateur Golf Ranking, enters the U.S. Amateur with associate head coach James Vargas as his caddie, while head coach Greg Sands will be on the bag for Matthew Comegys. The winner and runner-up will earn exemptions into the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and likely invitations to the 2025 Masters Tournament and Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
