AUSTIN, TX — The Lone Star Conference (LSC) has announced a groundbreaking five-year media rights agreement with FloSports, set to begin this fall. The deal, announced on Tuesday, August 13, positions FloSports as the LSC's exclusive digital streaming partner for its 17 member institutions.
Under this new agreement, FloSports will provide global streaming access to LSC events, supporting the conference's teams, universities, and student-athletes with online and social media content. The LSC becomes the 12th conference to join FloSports' newly launched FloCollege platform, which is scheduled to debut in October.
"We are thrilled to partner with FloSports on the largest media rights deal in NCAA Division II history," said LSC Commissioner Jay Poerner. "This partnership allows us to expand our audience, increase distribution, and better position our student-athletes for success. The revenue generated will directly benefit our athletic departments and lay a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation."
FloSports Senior Director Chris Keldorf added, "The LSC is one of the most prestigious Division II conferences in the nation with a rich history that spans nearly a century. It will be a cornerstone of FloCollege at launch in October."
The LSC, established in 1931 and headquartered in Richardson, Texas, is one of the most formidable Division II conferences, boasting 81 NCAA national team championships. It encompasses 17 schools across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, with UT Dallas set to join in the 2025-26 academic year. Additionally, Central Washington and Western Oregon are football affiliates.
FloSports will deliver over 1,500 regular season and postseason events, including conference championships, beginning in the 2024 season. Sports covered under the agreement include football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and soccer.
Fans will have access to both live and on-demand viewing options through FloSports, which offers yearly and monthly subscription plans. The service will be more cost-effective than the current Lone Star Conference Digital Network pricing, with additional discounts available to users with an .edu email address.
All revenue from this partnership will be reinvested into LSC member institutions, with a focus on equitable broadcast production standards and enhancing coverage quality across all sports.
The FloCollege platform will feature content from a variety of NCAA Division II and III conferences, representing over 1,000 teams from nearly 100 schools nationwide. The launch of FloCollege will coincide with an updated FloSports connected TV app, offering enhanced personalization and streaming capabilities on devices such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV.
FloSports has committed to investing more than $50 million into FloCollege, supporting rights fees, production, content, technology, and marketing.
In 2023, FloSports' college programming reached more than 38 million people, with over 51 million live minutes watched for NCAA conference partner events.
