HOCKLEY, TX — Texas Tech Men's Golf is set to close its fall season at the Big 12 Conference Match Play Tournament, hosted at Houston Oaks Country Club from Oct. 7-9. The Red Raiders, seeded fourth overall, will compete in Pool D and face No. 5 Colorado, No. 12 TCU, and No. 13 Baylor in pool play. Texas Tech, winners of this event in 2019 and 2022, aims to reclaim the title after a sixth-place finish last year.
Tournament Format:
The tournament will span three days, featuring pool play during the first one-and-a-half days, followed by bracket play. Teams are divided into four pools, and each match consists of five individual head-to-head matchups. Teams earn one point for each match win and half a point for a tied match. The team with the most points at the end of each match receives three points; a tie results in both teams earning one point. A 5-count-5 sudden-death playoff will be used to break ties in pool play and the semifinals.
