LOS ANGELES, CA — The 2024 World Series kicks off on Friday night, and this edition will feature the two biggest teams in the MLB. The New York Yankees square off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in LA on Friday night to see who will strike first in this clash of the Titans. While seeing the Yankees and Dodgers in the World Series together might make Texas Rangers and Houston Astros fans alike sick, there is no denying that this will be an electrifying matchup.
It will be the 12th time these teams have met in the World Series. This marks the first appearance in the Fall Classic for former MVPs Aaron Judge of the Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers, who are also considered favorites for this year's award.
New York powered through the American League in the playoffs this season. The Yankees finished off the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS 4-1 in a series where New York only dropped a game due to a walk-off. The Mets put up more in a fight against Los Angeles in the National League, but the Dodgers still claimed a 4-2 series victory.
