NFL Week Eight Recap for Texas Tech Alumni

 

LUBBOCK, TX — In Week 8 of the NFL Season, eight of the nine former Red Raiders on active NFL rosters saw game action, headlined by Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes II, who surpassed 30,000 career passing yards. Mahomes reached this milestone faster than any quarterback in NFL history, achieving it in his 103rd game as the Chiefs maintained their undefeated record with a 27-20 win over the Raiders.

Game Highlights and Stats:

  • Patrick Mahomes II (Chiefs): Led the Chiefs to victory with 262 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception. Season stats: 1,651 yards, 8 TDs.
  • Tyree Wilson (Raiders): Recorded a season-high 3 tackles, including his first sack of the season on Mahomes.
  • Jordyn Brooks (Dolphins): Tallied 9 tackles, including a quarterback hit, leading Miami in tackles during their narrow loss.
  • Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (Cardinals): Played 25 snaps, primarily on special teams, in Arizona's last-second win.
  • Broderick Washington Jr. (Ravens): Returned to action with 42 defensive snaps and a pass breakup.
  • Terence Steele (Cowboys): Played every offensive snap as the starting right tackle.
  • Tyler Owens (Commanders): Returned from injury, playing 19 snaps on special teams with one tackle.

Red Raiders on Injured/Practice Squads:

  • Injured Reserve: Le'Raven Clark (Eagles).
