Texas Tech Women’s Golf Wraps Fall Season at Charles Schwab Collegiate

FORT WORTH, TX — The Texas Tech women’s golf team concluded its fall season on Tuesday, October 29, with a 10th-place finish at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate, hosted by TCU at Ridglea Country Club. Despite the overall disappointing finish, the Red Raiders posted their lowest team score of the tournament in the final round, with senior Danique Stokmans leading the way in a standout performance.

Stokmans carded a 3-under-par 68 on Tuesday, her best round of the fall season, jumping 18 spots on the leaderboard to tie for 24th place. She tied her career-low round, a 68 she had set previously while playing at Oregon State, and ended the tournament with two eagles, both on the 18th hole — the only player in the 60-person field to accomplish that feat.

Joining Stokmans in the top 25 was Maja Ambroziak, whose consistent play on Monday (71-73) helped her match Stokmans with a three-round total of 220. She finished the final round with a 5-over-par 76 to tie for 24th place.

Texas Tech’s strong finish was further bolstered by junior Lauren Zaretsky, who notched five birdies in the final round to post a 1-over-par 72, her lowest score of the tournament. As a team, the Red Raiders concluded the event with an 11-over-par 295, finishing 10th overall with a combined score of 902.

Wake Forest took the team title with a 5-over total of 857, followed by Texas A&M at 859 (+7).

The Red Raiders will begin their spring season on Feb. 3-4 at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida.
