Houston Astros Announce Daikin Park in New Naming Rights Deal

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Astros announced Monday, November 20, that their home ballpark will undergo a name change from Minute Maid Park to Daikin Park starting in January 2025 as part of a 15-year naming rights agreement with Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc.

The agreement runs through the 2039 season and includes naming rights and various partnership benefits. Daikin, a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) company, employs 10,000 people in the Houston area and operates a massive 4.2 million-square-foot facility in Waller, Texas.

Minute Maid, which has been the ballpark's namesake since 2002, will remain a partner with the Astros through 2029. However, Minute Maid signage inside and outside the stadium will be replaced before Jan. 1, 2025. The Astros' first game at Daikin Park will be on March 27, 2025, when they face the New York Mets.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Houston Astros,” said Satoru Akama, Daikin president and CEO. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to excellence in both sports and community initiatives.”

The Astros ended their 2024 campaign with a playoff loss to the Detroit Tigers in the Wildcard Round last October.
