Clutch 2-Minute Drill Puts Texas Tech Up at the Half

STILLWATER, OK — The Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-4) and Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-7) are in a back-and-forth battle in Stillwater on Saturday, November 24. After Tech jumped out to an early lead, a turnover, and good defense allowed the Cowboys to crawl back into it. Last-minute heroics from Behren Morton and Tahj Brooks have the Red Raiders up 21-14 at the half.

Tech struck first on a 6-play, 75-yard drive capped off with a 12-yard TD pass from Morton to Caleb Douglas. The Red Raiders followed that up with a 14-play, 91-yard drive that ended with another touchdown pass from Morton to Mason Tharp.

Oklahoma State finally climbed back into the game late in the first quarter when Ollie Gordon broke away from the Texas Tech defense for a 68-yard touchdown. An interception from Morton later led to another Gordon touchdown rush.

Locked up at 14, the Red Raiders had one final opportunity to score with just over two minutes to play in the half. Texas Tech drove the football 92 yards in 12 plays for another touchdown. Faced with a 3rd down and 10 yards to go at Oklahoma State's 25-yard line, Morton found Brooks streaking up the sideline for the score. Tech took the lead with five seconds to go 21-14.
