Texas Tech Renews Rivalry with Texas A&M in Fort Worth

 

FORT WORTH, TX — The storied basketball rivalry between Texas Tech and No. 22 Texas A&M will reignite on Sunday as the two teams face off at 2 p.m. in the US LBM Coast-to-Coast Challenge at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. This will be the first official meeting between the programs since 2012, following Texas A&M's departure from the Big 12.

Texas Tech (7-1) holds a slight edge in the all-time series, leading 64-61, despite losing the last six official matchups. The Aggies (7-2) swept the final three seasons of Big 12 play before realignment. The Red Raiders claimed an 89-84 victory in an exhibition game against the Aggies last year in Denton.

Both teams are riding three-game win streaks. Texas Tech is coming off a 76-62 victory over DePaul, while Texas A&M secured a 57-44 win over Wake Forest earlier this week.
