LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech Lady Raiders (9-1) are set to play their first road game of the season on Wednesday, December 11, as they take on the SMU Mustangs (5-5) in Dallas. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
Texas Tech holds a 42-4 all-time record against SMU, having won 27 of the last 28 meetings. The Lady Raiders are riding a two-game winning streak in the series, including a 61-49 victory in their most recent matchup on March 20, 2023.
Junior forward Kilah Freelon has been a standout performer this season. She led the team in rebounding during the Lady Raiders’ last outing against Stephen F. Austin. Freelon set a career high with nine offensive boards and totaled 11 rebounds, marking the first double-digit rebound performance for a Lady Raider this season. Freelon ranks among the Big 12’s best in offensive rebounding, tied for fifth with 2.67 offensive boards per game.
Texas Tech's depth remains a factor, as the team ranks second in the Big 12 and 31st nationally with 29.7 bench points per game. The Lady Raiders scored a season-high 47 bench points against Missouri State and have now shot above 46 percent from the field in three consecutive games, including a season-best 58.3 percent against Missouri State.
