KANSAS CITY, MO — Texas Tech soccer standout Macy Blackburn has been named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association, capping off a week of accolades for the Keller, Texas native.
This is Blackburn’s second consecutive All-America honor, having earned Third Team recognition in 2023. Her 2024 campaign has further solidified her status as one of the top defenders in the nation, following her unanimous selection as the Big 12 Defender of the Year and a spot on the prestigious 18-person Hermann Trophy Semifinalist list.
Blackburn is the all-time leader in assists in Texas Tech soccer history and remains the only player in the program’s history to record multiple double-digit assist seasons. She continued to showcase her playmaking prowess this year, tallying 10 assists and scoring two goals across 19 matches, 18 of which she started.
A unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team, Blackburn earned First Team honors for the second consecutive year. Her contributions were instrumental in Texas Tech’s success this season, both defensively and offensively.
The recognition as a First Team All-American places Blackburn among the nation's elite. She is the only player from Texas and the only Big 12 representative to achieve this distinction in 2024.
The Red Raiders finished 2024 with a 15-5-1 overall record and a 2nd round appearance in the NCAA tournament.
