TUCSON, AZ — Seth Doege, a West Texas native and the fourth-leading passer in Texas Tech history, has been announced as the new offensive coordinator for the Arizona Wildcats.
Doege, 35, comes to Arizona following a successful 2024 season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Marshall University, where he helped lead the Thundering Herd to a 10-3 record and a Sun Belt Conference championship. Despite Marshall ranking 71st nationally in total offense with 382.8 yards per game, their success brought national recognition, culminating in head coach Charles Huff accepting a position at Southern Mississippi.
Before his tenure at Marshall, Doege served in coaching roles at Purdue, under fellow Texas Tech alumnus Graham Harrell, and at Southern California, Bowling Green, and Ole Miss.
Doege’s football journey began in West Texas, where he played for Crane High School before transferring to Frenship. Knee injuries sidelined him for his junior and senior seasons, but he made a strong recovery to become a standout quarterback for Texas Tech University.
During his collegiate career from 2009 to 2012, Doege threw for 8,636 yards and 69 touchdowns, ranking among the best quarterbacks in program history. Highlights of his time with the Red Raiders include leading an upset win over No. 3 Oklahoma in 2011 and capping the 2012 season with a Texas Bowl victory.
Doege inherits an Arizona offense that ranked 97th nationally in 2024, averaging 354.5 yards per game. One of his first challenges will be replacing star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who has declared for the NFL Draft.
The Wildcats will not face Doege’s alma mater, Texas Tech, until 2026, when Arizona travels to Lubbock. The Red Raiders defeated the Wildcats on the road in Tucson in 2024, 28-22.
