Monterey HS to Retire '02 Grad Josh Washington’s Jersey

 

LUBBOCK, TX – Monterey High School will retire Josh Washington’s basketball jersey today, Friday, December 20, at 4:45 p.m. between the girls' and boys' basketball games at the Monterey High School Gymnasium.

Washington is a 2002 graduate and holds the all-time scoring record for Monterey basketball with 2,105 career points. His achievements on the court, both at the high school and collegiate levels, have earned him a handful of accolades and have solidified his place as one of the school’s most accomplished athletes.

According to a press release, the ceremony will celebrate Washington’s impact on the Monterey basketball program and how he inspired future generations of student-athletes. His legacy at Monterey extends beyond basketball, and he was a multi-sport athlete.

The public is invited to celebrate Washington’s jersey retirement ceremony at Monterey High School, 3211 47th St., Lubbock, TX 79413.
