Texas Tech Lady Raiders Face Arizona State in First Big 12 Road Game

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech Lady Raiders travel to the desert on Wednesday, January 1, for their first Big 12 road matchup against the Arizona State Sun Devils at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe. The all-time series between these two squads is tied 4-4, with Arizona State the winners of the last matchup in 2013, 85-77.

Bailey Maupin
Junior guard Bailey Maupin has been on an offensive tear, scoring 20 or more points in three consecutive games for the first time in her career. Over the last three games, she has averaged 24.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Maupin's Big 12 opener against Houston was a career highlight, as she scored 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. She is just three points shy of reaching the 1,000-point milestone for her career.

Sarengbe Sanogo
Junior forward Sarengbe Sanogo opened Big 12 play with her first career double-double, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds against Houston. Sanogo shot an impressive 6-for-7 from the field and added two blocks to help secure the Lady Raiders' first conference win.

Denae Fritz
Redshirt junior Denae Fritz has posted back-to-back season highs in scoring. The Maryville, Tenn., native shot a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from three against Arkansas and followed up with 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting against Houston.
