Westerners Fall to Plainview at Home

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock High Westerners (8-13) (0-7) hosted the Plainview Bulldogs (13-6) (3-3) on Friday, January 3, for a district matchup at Lubbock High School. Despite tough play throughout the contest, the Westerners never managed to overcome an explosive first quarter from the Bulldogs and fell at home 67-49.

Watch some of the highlights from the game below:

Plainview scored the first 14 points of the contest before Lubbock High went on a 7-2 run to end the 1st quarter. The Bulldogs picked up where they left on in the 2nd, scoring an additional 18 points to take a 32-16 lead at the break.

The Westerners played much better in the final two quarters. They scored 33 points, but Lubbock High never gave up but did not manage to threaten in the 2nd half. Plainview made too many threes and took advantage of too many Westerner turnovers for Lubbock High to win.

Lubbock High returns to action on Tuesday, January 7, when the Westerners host Amarillo Caprock at 7:30 p.m.
