Texas Tech Football 2025 Spring Football Roster Report

LUBBOCK, TX – Texas Tech Football officially turned the page to its 101st season this week as head coach Joey McGuire welcomed all 114 members of the 2025 spring roster to campus. The full roster is now available on TexasTech.com.

The Texas Tech Athletics ticket office has launched its season ticket renewal campaign, with a deadline set for Feb. 28. Following a 2024 season in which the Red Raiders ranked second in the Big 12 in average attendance (58,623), another sellout is anticipated. Last season’s mark fell just short of the all-time record (58,934) at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Classes began Wednesday for the 2025 Red Raiders, one day after McGuire led the team’s first official meeting of the semester. The roster will now enter an eight-week winter workout period leading into the first spring football practice on March 10.

2025 Spring Roster Overview:

• 114 players on the spring roster

• 87 returning players from the 2024 team

• 27 newcomers joining for the spring semester

Spring Freshman Class:

• Nine early-enrollee freshmen

• Eight attended high school in Texas; one in Oklahoma

• Ten additional signees will join in the summer from the 2025 Signing Day Class

Spring Transfer Class:

• 18 transfers from other collegiate programs

• Eight transfers from "Power Four" programs

• 10 transfers are seniors, six are juniors, and two are sophomores

• Nine transfers have previously earned first-, second-, or third-team all-conference honors

Roster Breakdown by Location:

• 87 players hail from Texas

• 25 players from 15 other states; Florida and Oklahoma lead with three each

• Two international players from Australia and Canada
