Texas Tech’s TJ Pompey Named Third Team All-American

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech sophomore infielder TJ Pompey has been named a Third Team All-American by Perfect Game Baseball, the organization announced Wednesday.

Pompey, a Coppell native, earned Freshman All-American honors twice in 2024 and was a Big 12 All-Freshman selection. He hit .279 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs last season while adding 12 stolen bases, 11 doubles, and two triples. He finished with a .905 OPS.

One of the inaugural "2 PM" Patrick Mahomes adidas athletes, Pompey ranked fourth on the Red Raiders in home runs, third in RBIs, and sixth in runs scored. He also placed inside the top 20 in the Big 12 in RBIs, triples, and stolen bases.

Texas Tech opens the 2024 season on Feb. 14 at No. 19 North Carolina. First pitch at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill is set for 3 p.m. CT.
