SAN ANGELO, TX — Grace Foster scored 39 points to lead the No. 18-ranked Lubbock Christian women’s basketball team to an 80-63 win over Angelo State on Saturday.
It snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Rambelles (13-4 overall, 9-2 Lone Star Conference).
It was the sixth straight win for LCU (16-3, 10-1), which now holds a two-game lead over ASU in the LSC’s West Division standings.
ASU trailed only 56-53 heading into the fourth quarter before LCU ran away with the game.
Foster, a 6-foot-1 senior from the small town of Childress, had 10 points, four assists, three blocks and a steal to go along with her career-high 39 points.
ASU sophomore Madi Lumsden led the Belles with 22 points, which was the highest total of her young collegiate career.
ASU junior Keniah Williams had 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Belles will play again at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in San Antonio against St. Mary’s. LCU will play at the same time at home against Oklahoma Christian.
