Lubbock Christian Chaps Ranked No. 3 in NCBWA Regional Preseason Poll

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Opening day for the 2025 Division II baseball season is almost here and with that comes all the preseason rankings for teams around the country. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association recently released its 2025 Regional Preseason Poll on Wednesday, selecting Lubbock Christian Baseball as the No. 3 team in the South Central Region.

The Chaps received 64 points to come in behind Colorado Mesa (71) and Angelo State (78). West Texas A&M and Regis rounded out the top five. 

UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler, and St. Edward's ranked No. 6-8 to finish the Lone Star Conference representation in the preseason poll.

The Chaps will open the 2024 season at home against UT Tyler beginning on Friday, Jan. 31, for a four-game series to start the year.
