IDALOU, TX — The Slaton Tigresses traveled to Idalou High School to take on the No. 6 Lady Wildcats on Tuesday night. After a close first half, the Tigresses proved to be too much for the ranked Wildcats, cruising to a 47-28 win.
Check out the game highlights below:
The Tigresses came out strong after tip-off, quickly racking up points in the paint. Their aggressive offense sent the Wildcats to the free-throw line, where they converted 5 of 8 attempts in the first half. However, height was the deciding factor, as the Tigresses’ dominance on the boards gave them more chances to score. By halftime, Slaton led Idalou 19-13.
The second half did not prove to be any different for the Lady Wildcats. Slaton had a few great fastbreaks off turnovers and capitalized points under the basket. As the clock dwindled down, the visitor stands began to roar, and the Tigresses fed off that energy. A few attempts at the arc to make the score tighter didn’t connect, and the Tigresses had taken down the No. 6 ranked Lady Wildcats 48-26.
