LUBBOCK, TX—Lubbock-Cooper High School hosted a signing ceremony on Wednesday for three of its student-athletes, who signed with universities to play at the next level.
Jayden Bush was the lone basketball athlete to sign, while Lubbock-Cooper also had two players from the Pirate’s football team, Jackson Austin and Hudson Hamilton, to further their athletic ambitions to the next level.

Hudson Hamilton played tackle and guard for the Pirates last season. Hudson will attend the University of Central Oklahoma to play football in the fall. Central Oklahoma is a Division II school in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and competes against schools like Northeastern State and Newman.
Jackson Austin signed to play football for Abilene Christian University in the fall. Jackson will play running back for Abilene Christian and is the only Division I signee. Abilene Christian plays in the Southland Conference and competes against teams like the University of Incarnate Word and Stephen F. Austin State University.
The only basketball signee for Lubbock-Cooper is Jayden Bush. The young man signed to Howard Payne University on Wednesday. Howard Payne is a private Baptist university in Brownwood, Texas. They are a Division III school in the American Southwest Conference and competes against schools like East Texas Baptist and Hardin-Simmons University.
