Frenship Dominates to Claim a Bi-District Championship

FORT STOCKTON, TX — The Frenship Tigers traveled to Fort Stockton on Tuesday to face off with El Paso Coronado in the 2024 UIL Basketball Bi-District Championship game. Suffocating defense carried the Tigers throughout the afternoon as they went on to route the Thunderbirds 66-31.

The Tigers scored early and often thanks to some timely steals and forced shots to take the lead. After the first quarter came to a close, the Tigers led 14-5. The defensive effort continued in the second quarter. No matter what Coronado tried, a Frenship defender appeared to make the Thunderbirds' lives difficult. The Tigers extended their lead to 33-9 at the half.

El Paso Coronado battled back to start the third quarter. A nice little run cut the Tigers' lead to 18 points before Frenship decided to stop playing with its food. The Tigers went on another scoring spree to comfortably put the game away and claim a Bi-District Championship, 66-31.

Patton Pinkins led all scorers on the afternoon with 28 points. Chase Campbell added 14 points in the winning effort.

Next up, the Tigers advance to the Area Round. The date, time, and are still TBD.
