LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech University has officially opened its brand new Womble Football Center, a $242 million facility packed with top-of-the-line features to help the football team improve.
The new facility includes upgraded locker and weight rooms, a two-story team lounge, recovery areas, a barbershop, a podcast studio, and a walkthrough room named after former Red Raider and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The new center is the biggest investment in Texas Tech Athletics history. Dustin R. Womble, a Texas Tech University System Board of Regents member, also helped fund the Womble Basketball Center.
Texas Tech ended the 2024 season with an 8-5 record, losing 39-26 to Arkansas in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The Red Raiders kick off the 2025 season with spring practices on March 10 and will host the annual Spring Game on April 19.
