FRISCO, TX — Texas Tech sent two tight ends to the Big 12 Pro Day held at The Star in Frisco this week. Jalin Conyers and Mason Tharp both hope to find homes on NFL Rosters next season, and both young men have the skills and frame to make it. After their workouts, these two young men gave us the time to interview them about their experience.

Conyers, a transfer from Arizona State, was happy to be back in Texas for his final year of college football. The young man from Gruver, TX, was even happier to have the chance to play for his favorite childhood team, Texas Tech. Conyers was a force in the run game this season. Whether blocking or taking direct snaps, he quickly became one of the leaders in this Red Raiders offense.

Texas Tech Red Raiders' Mason Tharp

Tharp, a 6'9" giant from Klein, TX, was absolutely essential to Texas Tech's run game that saw Tahj Brooks break the all-time rushing record at Texas Tech. While not utilized as much in the passing game, he is capable of a well-coached route tree and has solid range and hands to boot. After his workout, Tharp gave his overall thoughts on the Big 12 Pro Day.

Both young men hope that come draft time, NFL teams will want them on their rosters. The NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 24.
