KENNESAW, GA — Texas Tech women’s golf returns to action Monday at the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate, hosted by Kennesaw State at the Pinetree Country Club. The 54-hole event will be played March 24-25, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and the final round teeing off Tuesday morning.
The Red Raiders are competing in their fifth tournament of the spring and 10th of the 2024-25 season. Texas Tech remained in Georgia during the university’s spring break following a strong showing at the Valspar Augusta Invitational on March 16, where sophomore Klara Hurtova earned her first collegiate win.
Texas Tech’s five-player lineup will include:
-
Klara Hurtova
-
Maja Ambroziak
-
Kylee Loewe
-
Danique Stokmans
-
Lauren Zaretsky
Two players — Libby Fleming and Chelsea Romas — will compete as individuals.
The Red Raiders will be one of 12 teams in the field, joining Bradley, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, host Kennesaw State, Lee University, Notre Dame, South Alabama, UAB, ULM and UNC Asheville.
First and second rounds will begin with tee times starting at 8 a.m. EDT (7 a.m. CDT) Monday, while Tuesday’s final round will use a shotgun start at 9 a.m. EDT (8 a.m. CDT).
Hurtova, who was declared the medalist at Valspar Augusta after weather forced the cancellation of the final round, led the field with a 5-under-par 139 across two rounds. It marked the first individual win of her collegiate career.
The Red Raiders are looking to build on a season that includes a team victory at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock and a tie for fourth at the Jim West Challenge in the fall. Neither Hurtova nor any of her teammates have previously competed at Pinetree Country Club, though head coach JoJo Robertson led Texas Tech to a win there in 2016 when the event was known as the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate.
Texas Tech’s coaching staff is led by Robertson in her 15th season. She is assisted by Anna Dong, a former Red Raider standout and 2023 Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Following the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate, Texas Tech will return to the Lone Star State for the Veritex Bank Collegiate, held April 7-8 at the Dallas Athletic Club, before preparing for the Big 12 Championship April 15-17 at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
