IRVING, TX – Texas Tech sophomore Klara Hurtova has been named the Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Month for March, the conference announced Thursday. It marks Hurtova’s first career monthly honor and the first for a Red Raider since March 2022.
Hurtova claimed back-to-back tournament titles last month, leading Texas Tech to a team win and elevating her national ranking by 86 spots. She won the Valspar Augusta Invitational on March 15-16 with a 5-under-par 139 (69-70), and followed with a playoff victory at the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate on March 24-25, finishing at 1-over 214 (74-70-70).
The two wins were the first of her collegiate career. She has three top-five finishes on the season, including a runner-up showing at the Red Raider Invitational in the fall.
Over three March events, Hurtova averaged 71.75 strokes per round.
The last Red Raider to earn the monthly honor was Amy Taylor in February 2022.
