Texas Tech Set to Compete at Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

 

AUGUSTA, GA – Texas Tech Men's Golf returns to action this weekend at the prestigious Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, hosted by Augusta University at Forest Hills Golf Club. The two-day, 54-hole stroke play tournament begins Saturday with 36 holes and concludes Sunday with the final 18.

The Red Raiders will field a lineup of Connor Graham, Calum Scott, Tim Wiedemeyer, Charlie DeLong, and Ben Gregg as they face a loaded 15-team field featuring five Top 25 programs, including No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Oklahoma State. Texas Tech enters the weekend ranked No. 28 and is looking to climb back into the national Top 25 after hovering just outside for much of the spring.

  • Dates: April 5–6 (Saturday–Sunday)

  • Format: Stroke play, 5-count-4, 54 holes

  • Course: Forest Hills Golf Club – Par 72, 7,086 yards

  • Live Scoring: Golfstat

  • Tee Times: Saturday shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. EDT; Sunday tee times off #1 and #10 beginning at 8:30 a.m. EDT

First held in 1979, the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational has a storied history with past individual champions including Phil Mickelson, Justin Leonard, Dustin Johnson, and Cameron Young. Forest Hills Golf Club sits less than five miles from Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters, which begins practice rounds on Monday.

The Red Raiders will remain in Augusta after the tournament to attend Monday's Masters practice round, where they will watch former Tech standout Ludvig Åberg prepare for his second appearance at Augusta National since concluding his collegiate career in 2023.

Texas Tech Notes

  • The Augusta event marks Tech’s 10th tournament of the season and sixth of the spring.

  • Their best team finish this season came at The Prestige (Feb. 17–19), where they placed second at 13-under (839).

  • Freshman Connor Graham leads Tech individually, ranking No. 50 nationally and recording four consecutive Top 20 finishes.

  • Calum Scott (No. 14) and Charlie DeLong (No. 34) are both ranked in the latest PGA Tour University standings released April 2.

  • Texas Tech has fluctuated between No. 19 and No. 28 in the national rankings this spring.

What’s Next
Following Augusta, the Red Raiders head to West Virginia for the Mountaineer Invitational (April 14–15) before wrapping up the regular season at the Big 12 Championships (April 22–24) in Tulsa at Southern Hills Golf Club.
