LUBBOCK, TX — Former Texas Tech standout Cade McGee has been named the first Florida State League Player of the Week for the 2025 season after a red-hot start with the Palm Beach Cardinals.

McGee batted .366 with two home runs, three RBIs and a 1.462 OPS, helping lead Palm Beach to a series win over the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.

He opened the season by going 2-for-4 with a run scored in Palm Beach’s 8-2 win on Opening Day. On Saturday, he followed that with a 1-for-2 performance that included a home run and two walks.

McGee delivered the biggest moment of the weekend on Sunday, launching a walk-off two-run homer to seal an 11-10 victory and secure the series win.

The former Red Raider finished the week with a .366/.462/1.000 slash line, capping a standout first week of professional play.
