Texas Tech Outdoor Track and Field Sweeps Weekly Big 12 Awards

LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech claimed both of the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors with Oskar Edlund (men’s) and Temitope Adeshina (women’s) for their performances at Texas A&M’s 44 Farms Invitational.

Edlund won the men’s 400-meter hurdles during his first competition since January. The senior crossed the finish line at 50.18 seconds to place atop the Big 12 outdoor performance list this season. Earning the sixth fastest time in the NCAA this season, this is the Stockholm, Sweden native’s first Big 12 weekly honor.

Adeshina opened her outdoor season by winning the women’s high jump with a leap of 1.86 meters. The 2025 NCAA Indoor women’s high jump champion’s mark is tied for third nationally while it leads the Conference. This week’s honor is the sophomore’s first Big 12 outdoor weekly award and her second career Big 12 track and field honor after earning an indoor selection during the 2024 season.
