Texas Tech Golf Earns 23rd Consecutive Regional Bid

LUBBOCK, TX — The No. 23 Texas Tech men’s golf team has earned a berth in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships and will compete in the Urbana Regional as the No. 4 seed, the NCAA announced Wednesday on the Golf Channel.

The regional tournament, hosted by the University of Illinois, will be held May 12–14 at Atkins Golf Club in Urbana, Illinois. The Red Raiders join a 13-team field that includes top seed Oklahoma State, No. 2 seed North Carolina, and No. 3 seed Illinois.

"I like it, I think it fits us for several reasons," head coach Greg Sands said about the regional selection site. "Specifically, our seniors will feel comfortable there. Charlie [DeLong] is from around that area. Calum's [Scott] played similar grass over the years that he's a little more used to than maybe some of the other sites. I'm really excited about going up there. I don't think a lot of teams have seen that golf course, which helps; other than Illinois, everybody is going to be on the same playing field there."

Texas Tech (No. 23 via Clippd rankings) enters the postseason following a third-place finish at the Big 12 Championship, behind only No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Arizona State. The Urbana Regional marks the program’s 23rd straight NCAA appearance under Sands and its 26th overall.

The Red Raiders will look to advance to the NCAA Championship for a fifth consecutive season. The national championship is scheduled for May 23–28 at Omni La Costa Champions Course in Carlsbad, California.

Freshman standout Connor Graham, who leads the team with a 70.7 scoring average and seven Top-20 finishes, highlights a Tech lineup that also includes veterans Charlie DeLong and Calum Scott. Graham was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team after tying for seventh at the conference championship.

The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team will move on from each of the six regional sites. Texas will serve as host for the championship finals.
