LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech sophomore Klara Hurtova shot an 11-over-par 83 Monday in the second round of the NCAA Lubbock Regional at The Rawls Course, finishing the day at 22-over for the tournament and in 63rd place overall.
Hurtova, one of six individuals in the regional field, teed off at 12:50 p.m. and began her round on hole No. 10. She opened with a par and later recorded her first birdie of the event on the par-5 17th to move to 3-over after eight holes. However, a double bogey on the 18th dropped her to 5-over at the turn.
She posted a 6-over 42 on the front nine to complete the round. Her scorecard for the day included eight pars, six bogeys, three double bogeys, and one birdie.
Monday’s round was delayed until 11 a.m. due to inclement weather but was completed without interruption. The final round is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 10 a.m., weather permitting. Hurtova is slated to tee off at 11:50 a.m. from hole No. 10 for the second consecutive round.
