CANYON, TX — Lubbock Christian University wrapped up its final opportunity to qualify for nationals with a strong showing at the WT Last Chance Meet on Sunday, highlighted by multiple provisional marks and a new school record.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Daniel Sianez, Que Fields, Reuel Campbell and Chris Moffett delivered a standout performance, clocking in at 3:07.99 to set a new program record. The mark surpassed the previous school best of 3:08.70 set in 2023. The quartet, who also hold the indoor relay record, secured a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Aden Soto, Trael Robertson, Fields and Moffett also met the provisional qualifying standard, finishing in 40.55 seconds. The time marked the second-fastest by an LCU team this season and the third combination to reach provisional status in the event.
In field events, Kevin Washington hit a provisional mark in the triple jump with a distance of 14.82 meters. Preston Neumeier, competing in the long jump, reached 7.07 meters but fell short of his season-best 7.33-meter mark.
On the women’s side, Joy Egwu placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.21 seconds, while Olivia Weider was the lone competitor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking in at 11:44.96.
