Texas Tech Fan Information for College Gameday, BYU

LUBBOCK, TX — Anticipation is reaching a fever pitch across West Texas as No. 8 Texas Tech prepares to host No. 7 BYU in a nationally televised top-10 showdown this Saturday inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC, and the game is already a sellout.

Adding to the spectacle, ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast live from the Green Space west of Jones AT&T Stadium from 8–11 a.m., marking the show’s second-ever visit to the Texas Tech campus. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the GameDay pit will open at 5:30 a.m. and space will be limited. The first two hours will air live from the outdoor set before the crew moves inside the stadium for their “Saturday Selections” segment prior to kickoff.

Texas Tech is also asking fans to participate in a “Stripe the Stadium” event, alternating red and white sections throughout the venue. A complete seating color chart is available on TexasTech.com.

College GameDay Fan Details

Fans wanting to stand in the GameDay pit can do so on a first-come, first-served basis and must follow ESPN security policies. Bags, food, drinks, markers, or signs on sticks will not be allowed. Signs must comply with ESPN’s regulations—no vulgar, political, or commercial references.

Student Seating and Raiderville

Texas Tech will reserve 12,000 seats for students, with 2,000 already designated for those camping in Raiderville and the first in line for College GameDay. The camping area has reached capacity with over 1,600 students registered. Campers must pack up by 7 a.m. Friday, when early-access wristbands will be distributed.

Students attending GameDay will gain priority access to seating in Section 13 and the turf lawn behind the north end zone via Gate 4 beginning at 10 a.m. Roughly 10,000 additional seats will remain available for general student admission through Gate 6, which opens at 5 a.m. Saturday.

Parking and Shuttle Service

All pre-purchased parking lots will open at 7 a.m. Saturday. Fans with RV passes can begin parking at 5:30 p.m. Friday and must vacate by 10 a.m. Sunday.

Citibus will offer $6 round-trip shuttle service from Texas Tech Parkway & 10th Street and Texas Tech Parkway & 5th Street (ADA only) beginning four hours before kickoff and running until one hour after the game. All payments will be processed through the GoPass app.

Ticket and Entry Information

Texas Tech has implemented a “tap and go” mobile ticketing system, which uses NFC technology rather than QR codes for faster entry. Screenshots of tickets are no longer accepted. Fans are strongly encouraged to download their tickets before arriving.

Only tickets purchased directly through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office or SeatGeek are guaranteed valid. Scalping or unauthorized reselling of tickets is prohibited on stadium grounds.

Fan Conduct and Policies

Texas Tech Athletics has reinforced its policy prohibiting the throwing of any objects, including tortillas, inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Fans violating this rule will face ejection and possible loss of ticket privileges.

The game will also serve as the annual “Celebrate America” event honoring military service members and veterans, coinciding with Texas Tech’s Hall of Fame weekend.

Raider Alley and Game Enhancements

Pregame festivities begin at 7 a.m. with DJ Pauly D headlining the Raider Alley Concert Series at 9 a.m. in the Engineering Key. The event is free and sponsored by Bud Light and Davis Smith Law Firm.

Fans will also notice continued upgrades to Jones AT&T Stadium, including expanded video board displays, new lighting effects, and enhanced fireworks. The Red Raiders’ entrance and in-game presentations will include choreographed light shows synchronized to music.
