Texas DPS Reminds Parents and Students to Use iWatchTexas

LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently sent out a reminder to students, parents, teachers, and school administrators about iWatchTexas, a tool that allows Texans to report suspicious activity to law enforcement confidentially.

iWatchTexas serves as a vital resource in helping protect schools and communities across the state by enabling the public to share concerns directly with law enforcement. DPS encourages anyone who notices unusual behavior or potential threats to speak up and report their observations.

Reports can be submitted to iWatchTexas at any time using several methods:

  • The iWatchTexas mobile app, available for free.
  • The iwatchtx.org website.
  • By calling 844-643-2251.

The DPS also emphasized that iWatchTexas is not meant for emergencies. In the event of an emergency, whether on a school campus or in the community, individuals should call 911 immediately.

While iWatchTexas is frequently associated with schools, it can be used to report suspicious activity in any area within Texas.

For more information on the app or about the program, visit iwatchtx.org.
