Lubbock Woman Leads Police on Chase That Ends In Crash

 

LUBBOCK, TX – A 36-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday following an incident in south Lubbock involving a knife threat and a subsequent police chase that ended in a collision, according to reports.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a disturbance call at the 2300 block of County Road 7260. At the scene, they identified the suspect, Andreea Reyes, who allegedly threatened an individual with a knife.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, a deputy observed a vehicle associated with the disturbance and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as Reyes, fled from the scene, leading deputies on a pursuit. The chase ended when Reyes's vehicle collided with two other cars near the intersection of 98th Street and Indiana Avenue.

The drivers of the other vehicles were transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries, and Reyes was also taken to the hospital.

Reyes faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle), one count of evading arrest in a vehicle, and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (threat).
