Prius Clobbered on US 87 Near Lamesa

LAMESA, TX — A crash about 7 miles north of Lamesa on US 87 has traffic somewhat snarled as first responders clean up the debris. 

From our observation, it appeared that the small black car was southbound on US 87 and was attempting to turn left across the northbound lanes. The black car, that resembles a Toyota Prius did not fare well in the collision. 

The mystery was that we could find no other vehicles involved in the crash. Although several miles north, we spotted a DPS trooper had pulled over a Ford Mustang. 

The crash happened at around 6 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024.
