LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock Power & Light Electric Utility Board has approved a 2 percent reduction in delivery rates for its customers.
The Lubbock City Council will now review and give final approval for the new rates.
This will be the first rate reduction since the competitive market was introduced in Lubbock, with further decreases anticipated in the future years.
LP&L officials have stated, “This decrease is ahead of schedule and we anticipate more reductions in the future as we strive to become the state’s top-performing and most cost-effective delivery system.”
Subject to City Council approval, the new rates are set to go into effect on November 1, 2024.
